Top 5 Amazon Writer Must-Haves
What are a writer’s top must-haves with which to surround themselves? It’s often been said that the first few sentences are the hardest to write. This may or may not be true, but getting in touch with that artist within us can sometimes take a little extra time. For me, I like to be comfortable and have things set up a certain way to ‘get going’. Every writer is different, but I was able to find some some great ideas and suggestions while online.
Here are my “Top 5 Amazon Writer Must-Have Things” to coax out the writer in you:
1. A cozy blanket. I love to write sprawled out on my couch with lots of big pillows and some of my favorite blankets over my legs and feet wrapping me up in warmth and comfort as I connect with my writer’s voice. Being cozy and comfortable makes it so much easier to get into ‘the zone’. Here is a beautiful blanket from Amazon:
2. Comfy slippers. I have to have warm feet. But I DON’T wear my shoes in the house. That’s just a big no-no for me. So, warm, soft, comfortable slipper socks with a good grip on the bottom that I can wear under my cozy blanket while I let the creative juice flow – yes….Ahhhh!
- A decent notebook for ideas, websites, passwords, etc. Here’s one; it’s also a recycled one – kind of cool, right?
- Pens that make you happy. These pens make me happy. I just REALLY like the colors, the way they write and that’s all I can say. I’ve been using them for awhile and I keep coming back for more. (I tend to lose pens.)
5. A beautiful wine glass (for my wine…IF I’m having wine.) I’ve often said that wine is ‘art in a bottle’. It is the culture, the people, the locale, the countryside of a place I may never have traveled. I love wine and all that that is wrapped up in that single bottle. To have a bottle accompany my while I write is often a cozy and artful companion. If I’m having wine, it should be in a decent glass. Here are some perfect examples.
Ok, so I see I got a little carried away with wine glass examples…which perhaps should inspire a post about a top 5 (or top 10 or top 20, you get the idea) wine lover must-haves. Ahhhh….I think a glass might be calling me right now.
